The Dumpsters once
again piled into the red Ferrari for the journey to Wandsworth, this
time it was the unfortunate Felix 'Pussy' Baker who was crammed into the
4-man back seat line up, and he spent the entire journey hiding from the
police and examining Fraggle and Spal's testicles. The team had decided to
leave early to enable a proper warm up on the spare pitches, but it
apparently had little positive effect in the early stages.
First Half
Things started fairly
poorly for the Dumpsters as usual, in a high tempo, low quality affair.
Some dreadful marking allowed Chelsea Youth to take the lead, only for
Spal to level things up shortly afterwards with a close range effort.
The Dumpsters failed to stay in the game however, and some comical
defending left keeper Fraggle exposed, after the ball was given away
from a Dumpsters freekick with everyone stranded upfield. Chelsea Youth
finished with ease and the boys were reeling.
The flow of the
game was being regularly disrupted by the referee, who continually gave
throw-ins the wrong way and was taken in by the diving antics of the
opposition, who fell on the floor at the slightest contact. Chelsea
Youth's resident psycho was also in full voice, urging his team to do
the dirty throughout.
Things
then went
from bad to worse as a third goal was conceded. Chelsea Youth found
themselves with a 2 on 1, and as Pussy slid in to try and clear the pass
across the face of goal he sliced the ball wildly into his own net,
leaving the Dumpsters trailing 3-1 at half time. A confrontation then
ensued between the dreadful ref and Dumpters hot-head Tim 'Ferret'
Preston, who was enraged by the officials bizarre decision making. After
a stern warning the game finally resumed.
Second Half
With a two goal deficit to recover, it was never going to be easy
for the Dumpsters, but a more organised display at the back, and a bit
of fighting spirit saw the team come back to earn a draw. Pussy slotted
home to bring the score back to 3-2, before Spal used his usual poaching
instincts to level things up. With both teams tiring the game drifted,
the only highlight being a flare up between Martin 'Allergies' Dibble
and the Chelsea Youth psycho, who looked determined to get involved in
some sort of fracas before the day was out.
The final whistle
brought another confrontation between Ferret and the ref, but it was
an argument that was never going to be resolved, and eventually Anal Bead
was dragged away to the team coach as the ref claimed he could have been
red carded on at least two occasions. Quite how is a mystery, as Ferret
hadn't even conceded a free kick, despite his best efforts.
To The Pub
With revision still to be done, and nursing the usual hangovers, the
trip to the pub was again abandoned.
